December 8th: All about Ornaments – Painted Wooden Ornaments & More

Get kids excited for the holiday season with handmade ornaments they can proudly display on the tree or around their home! Kids will explore festive imagery, learn to paint on wood, and practice basic knot-tying skills to create adorable miniature winter hats. These creative projects inspire kids to keep crafting long after class and make thoughtful, handmade gifts they’ll be excited to give. Along the way, they’ll discover the joy of creating and giving to others.

December 15th: Creative holiday Cards

Students will explore the art of printmaking while creating unique handmade cards and holiday posters. Students will learn pronto plate printmaking and make multiple prints of their original designs, giving them plenty of artwork to share with the special people in their lives.

Pre Registration is required. All classes are final sale unless event is canceled.

Meet your instructor:

Maggie Peterson is an artist who graduated from MSU Moorhead with a degree in Fine Art with an emphasis in Printmaking. She enjoys creating a wide variety of artwork with people of all ages. Maggie has created art programming with the Detroit Lakes Community Center in the Holmes Theater and The Boys and Girls Club of Detroit Lakes. She also works in the Art Department at Lakeshirts making artwork for T shirts. She has participated in multiple art exhibitions including Hawley Art Shows, Lakes Region Arts Council Art Shows, New York Mills Cultural Center Shows, and MacRostie Art Center Shows.
