Carmen’s own “suitcase of memories” began with an old blue suitcase passed down by her grandmother. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore memory, storytelling, and creativity through the keepsakes and objects left behind by those who came before us.

Using paint, paper, glue, vintage images, and found materials, Carmen will guide you through techniques for cutting, layering, arranging, and assembling elements into meaningful compositions.

You’ll leave with a finished 8×10” collage and new ideas for turning ordinary materials into art filled with meaning.

• No prior experience necessary — just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
• Bring photocopies of your own family photographs, letters, or small mementos that can be used to create your one-of-a-kind collage.
• Canvas and remaining supplies are included.
• This might get messy, so please dress accordingly.
