About Detroit Lakes Community & Cultural Center

The Detroit Lakes Community & Cultural Center (DLCCC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that provides quality experiences to learn, grow and play to Detroit Lakes and the surrounding communities. Since opening, in 2001, it has become an important part of area life. The Center is equipped with a state of the art pool and fitness area that serves more than 3,000 members and the 837-seat Historic Holmes Theatre, which brings in acts from around the world and provides a stage for local entertainers. The DLCCC is also home to an learning center, senior center, childcare pods and more. The construction and renovation project that built the DLCCC exemplifies the importance the community places on enriching the lives for people of all ages and walks of life.

UWL Participants Lose a “Ton”

The DLCCC’s Ultimate Weight Loss and Fitness Challenge Program has helped 173 people lose more than 2,000 pounds.  That’s literally a “ton” of weight! DLCCC Personal Trainer Nancy Hebert started the program in July 2004 after receiving many requests for weight loss tips. Hebert wanted a strategy that would teach lifestyle changes as opposed to a “diet.” She decided to base the program on Dr. Phil’s weight loss philosophy after reading his book and trying the strategy herself.
